Camphor Glass and Sterling Brooch
Camphor glass is cloudy white glass that typically looks like the patterned piece above. Camphor glass was a popular glass style in the mid-nineteenth century that was used in jewelry, vases and other decorative arts. I have been told that Midwestern glass companies specialized in it. many of the pieces I come across are set in sterling and would be considered fine jewelry.
