Hi Melissa they are glass- to get the effect of iridescence, they have been foiled on the back and the black background is painted on. Very creative and a nice effect.

I just found your site, And I must say I enjoy it....how much is the Whiting and Davis Cameo...Im also in the hunt for 1930's, 190 and 1950 vintage items, I don't know why, I'm intreged to find pieces that took part of other peoples lives.
That item sold for $19.99 - I buy wholesale in large lots or around town and I pass the savings on to my customers by running things in auction or by pricing my items a lot less then the most vintage jewelry sellers.
I think vintage jewelry should be affordable to all collectors. Thanks for dropping by.
